While there aren’t any large-scale aquariums in Branson, there are a couple of smaller marine life exhibits and displays that might be of interest to visitors.
Sitting in the heart of the Midwest with cooler winters and warm summers – Branson, Missouri isn’t the most conducive environment for an aquarium or aquatic attractions.
However, there are a couple of smaller marine life facilities, aquatic centers, and small-scale aquariums in the area where visitors can go when they’re in town.
Branson’s Wild World & Aquarium
Sitting right off Highway 76 in the heart of town is Branson’s Wild World & Aquarium, the largest and most popular “aquarium” in the Branson area.
One of the most popular animal attractions in town, it features all types of exotic creatures, wildlife, reptiles, and marine life!
This indoor exhibit features animals from around the world, with a special central area set up in the middle of the building that allows up-close viewing of some amazing aquatic and marine life!
On display are sharks, fish, turtles, and more – offering one of the most intimate and unique aquarium experiences by giving visitors unmatched vantage points and proximity to the beautiful sea creatures.
Open throughout the year, Branson’s Wild World is a popular choice for visitors of all ages.
Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery
Run by the Missouri Department of Conservation and sitting at the base of Table Rock Dam alongside Lake Taneycomo is the popular Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery.
Providing informational, educational, and fun experiences for visitors – this free attraction/exhibit allows you to see the famous Trout that fill the waters of Lake Taneycomo being raised and released.
Witness fish life cycles, learn about the marine animals and fish that inhabit that area’s waters, and enjoy the facility at your own pace as you walk among the thousands of fish that are bred and raised here.
Bass Pro’s Fresh Water Aquarium
Anchoring the Branson Landing’s south side, Branson’s Bass Pro Shops’ beautiful, indoor aquarium features a variety of local and regional fish species on display in the heart of the store.
Viewing is free and available to all visitors, guests, and customers of Bass Pro – and provides a unique, up-close opportunity to see some beautiful fish in a climate-controlled, rustic setting.
Wonders of Wildlife
Perhaps the most impressive (and one of the most incredible aquariums in the country) aquarium near Branson would be the newly-opened Wonders of Wildlife in Springfield, Missouri.
Sitting approximately 45 minutes north of Branson – this multi-million dollar exhibit features more than 350,000 square feet of aquariums, animal exhibits, and wildlife displays!
Founded and funded by Bass Pro Shops’ founder Johnny Morris, this new facility is one of the most incredible and impressive displays to be found anywhere in the country!
